Suggest other bands like Shotmaker, Sweep the Leg Johnny, and Rockets Red Glare

Three of my favorite bands (and three of the best live bands I've ever seen): Shotmaker [mp3s: 1 2 3], Sweep the Leg Johnny [1 2 3] and Rockets Red Glare [1 2 3]. What else would I like in this vein?
And if you like Burning Airlines, check out Jawbox. Similar to Sweep were Akarso, Tinteretto, Insidious and Managra. Their releases might be a bit hard to track down though (No Karma might be able to help.) Try Rumah Sakit or earlier Tristezza too and as a long shot, it might be worth you time to click the banner on my user page ;).

And, Les Savvy Fav have the same kind of dijointed chord-work you seem to like, but a little faster and more manic.
(Apologies if you're already aware of both of these.)

I think you might enjoy the Paper Chase... who is actually currently on tour, as well as Drive Like Jehu, Rocket from the Crypt and the Jesus Lizard. The Jesus Lizard finally retired a couple of years back, and were one of the truly outstanding live bands of the 90s. Drive Like Jehu was a side project for a couple of the guys from RFTC, and I'm not sure if they are still active, but I know that RFTC is.

According to Gnoosic you should check out Candiria, Engine Down, Hopesfall, American Nightmare and a few others. I'll let you dig deeper because it'll give you better recommendations based on if you like the bands it suggested or not.

You can tape whatever you want from TV (except, of course, Major League Baseball).
Ah, yes. The monkey trick.

This is nowhere near as obscure as the others that have been suggested, but since Rockets Red Glare borrows heavily from Fugazi, I thought I would mention them.

I'm going by Sweep the Leg Johnny, the only band you've listed that I'm familiar with (great band, by the way). If you like the angular sound with tempo changes, you might enjoy Unwound , Trail of Dead, or Frodus (the album reviewed here is by far their best; they've since broken up). You also might like At the Drive-In and their jazzier spin-off The Mars Volta.
If you dig the long instrumental parts that build up to rawk, check out Explosions in the Sky and Mogwai.
I've seen most of these bands live and they are all worth seeing (the ones that are still together, I suppose). Incidentally, I like this post and look forward to checking out the other bands that folks have brought up.

At the Halifax Pop Explosion 2001, I saw Rockets Red Glare play with Sweep The Leg Johnny, and if the rumours are true, that show was the reason they got signed to STLJ's label.

Response by poster: Thanks to all for the suggestions. I have records by a lot of them but there are a few I've never even heard of. TY!
hughbot, perhaps. I've seen them on the same bill as well, here in Toronto. Good double bill. I saw Sweep play 4 times in Toronto and each time was great. (RRG musta seen a dozen times as they're local. Unfortunately only saw Shotmaker play once but damn were they good. They mopped the floor with the Archers of Loaf.)
