Chicago hotel bars?

Good hotel-style bar in Chicago for a low-key birthday party?

The gal I am dating here in Chicago is looking for a hotel bar for her birthday party. To misquote her email to me on this subject, she is looking for something that is "old-fashioned" and "wintery," without either being too old-mannish or too trendy-minimalistish. Special without being swanky.

Any ideas? Would the Drake bar be a good place?

Yes, I'm aware of the place called Hotel Bar, but I've never actually been there so your ideas are welcome.

Thanks!

It's hard to go wrong with the Lounge at the Signature Room, on the 95/96th Floor of the Hancock. It's a very Deco sort of place, and my god, the view, the view.

Best answer: Yes, the Coq D'or at the Drake sounds like exactly what she is looking for.

Response by poster: Ah, she's already sent out an email for Coq D'Or. So I guess it was exactly what she was looking for!
