To all the sneaker pimps* out there: what can you tell me about sneaker culture? *no, not the band

I've seen multiple references online to "sneaker culture," some kind of ultra-obsessive otaku-like group (or groups) of athletic-shoe enthusiasts. I am curious to know more. What are the good websites? Discussion forums? Magazines?
