Help my friend find a DVD

My friend posts the following question:

Can anyone out there help me identify a film? It:

* exclusively has art on the dvd jacket
o of fairly non-descript people
o in pastels
o more stick figure than real life
o I believe they are looking depressed, or at least stunned/dazed
* has a one-word title
* It would have been on DVD by 2006
* It was not made prior to 1995, and probably not before 2000
* Tends to be available more in independent video stores than in your average Blockbuster
* I believe it was animated, but it might just be the cover art confusing my memory
* I believe MTV was involved in its promotion at one point

What I remember is given in reverse-order of me being sure about them.

Thanks

I know this doesn't exactly fit, but the first thing I thought of was The Maxx. If it's not it, I hope it spurs something else in your friends memory.

Could you be a little clearer in your description? You say that they're in pastels and more stick figure than real life. the problem is that I don't know if this means that the cover has stick figures on it or if it has heavily photoshopped pictures of actual people or what. Do they appear to have been drawn with pastel chalk or are they simply in pastel colors?
