If you rented office space only to discover that no cell phones work inside at all, are you totally out of luck or is there some sort of antenna or repeater or tin-can system that could be used to feed cell reception into the building?

There are definitely antennas you can run indoors to boost signal. I can't find a good link, but if no one else helps, I can ask my pater who knows of such things.

Look for your local commercial Nextel dealer. They often sell a variety of industrial radio and wireless products specifically for solving issues like what you describe.

Call the Carrier you want (verizon, whomever), explain your problem. Tell them you're interested in installing a Base Station (or BTS) for your floor of the building.

It's possible, I have no idea how much it costs.

I haven't found the antenna yet, but it's from these people.
