Where can I buy Worthington Stakelets (Frozen Vegi-steaks) in or around Madison, WI?

All of the major grocery stores around here that used to carry our family's favorite tofu substitute are now no longer stocking Worthington Foods Stakelets. Google shows a number of retailers around the U.S., but I'd rather not have to pay shipping charges, and I don't have the capacity to buy a case of them from a distributor. I've called around, locally, to no avail.

Thanks.

Did you try the Willy Street Co-op already?

Call your local Seventh Day Adventist Church, they're into Worthington foods like I'm into scotch. They'll be able to pass on the names of retailers.

Yea, natch.

I have a call into the grocers at the ABC in Sun Prairie (that's the 7th Day place) as well as Woodman's. Both of the folks I talked to expressed a great deal of pessimism that they'd be able to get the Stakelets themselves.

I can order them online from some mail order places, by the case...but who wants to try and store a frozen case of food? I can't even just set it outside, with the warm weather we're having this week.

Willy St Co-op is good about special ordering things if they can get it for you. If you haven't talked to the customer service desk, you might try there next time you are in the store. Just a thought since you said they don't carry it, but I'm not sure if you talked to them about special ordering them.

Good luck :)
