Are you happy? If so, how did you reach your happiness? What is your daily life like?

Take a look inside yourself.

I'm happy, but I'll be even happier in a few minutes.

I was happy, but my happiness left me a few minutes ago.

I am happy, but I'm not satisfied. I have a terrific family, interesting work, nice living conditions. I go to work, then tackle projects at home for my own interests. I don't do a lot of socializing as things feel pretty complete with just the family.

I consider myself a work-in-progress and therefore am always trying to improve myself. I appreciate what I've done, where I'm at and also want to be better.

Doh! You're right. It was inside myself.

I'm happy. I work from home for businesses in which I hold shares. I wasn't happy when I worked a corporate job with supposedly good benefits. (I have an entire rant about how cash-based health care is the right way to go and how we don't really have free market health care in the USA which is not relevant here.)

I think the secret to happiness is to eliminate wasteful stress, even if it means making less money and taking on more risk. I keep stress that is helping me attain goals and eliminate worry about things that I can't really change anyway.

I'm okay. I'm not happy all the time, and I don't expect to be, and I'm okay with that.

Today has been a real chatfilter marathon. Between this, the "where should I live?", and the "what have you changed your mind about?" threads, I'm feeling eerily like I'm at a big green slumber party where we all paint each other's nails and eat chips.

So I guess I'm happy because of the chips.

I think a lot of people received MetaFilter memberships for Christmas and haven't bothered to read the rules yet.

I'm relatively happy. I look for satisfaction more than I look for happiness. I think I'm probably happy because I have the basics like food and shelter covered, and I have reason to hope that things will keep getting better for me.

The OP's been here since June, with three non-chatty questions to his/her record.

As for the question - yes, I'm happy. Mostly, I think, because I'm lucky/successful enough to have been able to obtain the things that matter to me (friends, a relationship, enough money to pay for what I want) while keeping my desires minimized (ie, I'm fine with my smallish apartment.)
