This post was deleted for the following reason: this is chatfilter. -- jessamyn

Making a conscious and concerted effort to be more social, meet new people, make new friends, date more. Damned hard to do when I was feeling down and isolated and lonely. But, in hindsight, it was an absolutely vital change.

Going back to university - I got a real feeling of validation from being able to drop right back in to learning (or perhaps, if I'm being honest, I never really switched out of a learning mindset through the three years I was working). My goal for next year :).

Moving to Chicagoland this fall. I've learned in the past few months that I can handle anything thrown at me.

I started flagging chatfilter questions and moving on.

The "moving on" part is immensely positive.

I got married, which blew my tiny mind. I never thought I would get married and sometimes I'm still surprised that I am. But it's great; I wouldn't have done anything different. It brought me closer to my husband and closer to my family in ways I hadn't imagined when we first got engaged.

I also got a new job in a field I've wanted to be in for awhile. It's changed me in so many ways - I'm happier and more confident in many ways, although I'm full of self-doubt in others. But this is the first job I've actually ever cared about and that has made me appreciate what it's like to actually like or even love what you do instead of being some kind of workhorse.

For the first time, I gave the money I would have spent on holiday gifts to a charity that would use it 100% to feed the hungry. When I added it up, the amount made me gulp, and it made me nervous to not ship wrapped gifts to family (who lack nothing material) but in perspective, those are good things.

I moved to another country to start graduate school and discovered that I was perfectly capable of living independently from my parents, making mistakes and rectifying them on my own.
I met my wonderful boyfriend who showed me it's possible to find a smart, funny guy who is a liberal feminist atheist and thinks I'm wonderful too.
