Help salvage a poor innocent Moog!

My friend's just bought a nice new Moog Etherwave! Unfortunately, he plugged it in to the mains with just a plug converter, and since we're in Australia (240V) instead of the US, where the Moog came from (120V or something) - boom. Can we fix this? Would he have just have fried the power supply rather than the Moog itself? If so, can we just cut the cable, buy a new power supply (and transformer), and splice it on? Would that be a horrible nightmare?

There's a chance that the Moog may have had a fuse, in which case you'd just need to fix that (which should be easy peasy).

Have you opened it up yet? If so, is there anything noticeably charred?

Actually yeah, I recall him saying something about a fuse. I think he tried again with a proper transformer after replacing the fuse, but no good.

Unfortunately, there's a good chance he fried an actual circuit. He'd have to go through each individual circuit board and try to figure out which one is busted, and then replace that. It's definitely possible, but as you can imagine, a bit of a pain. I hope it's just a fuse, but there's a distinct possibility something more serious occurred.

Their website specifies an external power supply, so you should be able to find a local replacement. Contact MoogMusic for help.
