Where can one learn to fiddle in Vancouver, BC?

I got my girlfriend a fiddle for Xmas, which she's wanted for years. Now we're wondering what the best next steps in learning to play would be. She doesn't have any instrumental musical experience (just choir for several years) and I think I may have played the recorder back in elementary school ... maybe.

She's like to start with a book about the instrument in general. History, care & feeding, function of all the various parts, etc. If it's fiddle-specific (especially in terms of the history), that would be great, but it's not necessary.

She wants to start some lessons fairly soon too. Any recommendations for great fiddle instructors around Vancouver would be much appreciated. I know Celtic Traditions offers fiddle instruction, but I have no idea if they're any good, well priced, etc.

I saw this previous question, but it assumes that lessons won't be possible. Figure this is different enough to ask again. Thanks!

A friend of mine used to take lessons from Sona Le Mottee but I'm not sure if she still offers them. And I too know about the lessons at Celtic Traditions but can't recommend either for or against them.

If you have the budget for it, you could send her to the Gaelic College for one of their workshops. There's one coming up in March, and they also do them throughout the summer (you could maybe work it into an east coast vacation). I did the March Break workshop (but mainly for dance, not fiddle lessons) back when I lived in NS and had an amazing time.
