Help me select Spanish wine and cheese combinations.

Help! All I know about Spanish wine and cheese is that most red Rioja is nice and that manchego goes down nicely as tapas with a cold Mahou.

I need recommendations for good Spanish wine & cheese combinations. One for red and another for white. I looked at some of the previous wine and cheese questions but most questions mixed and matched from different countries. I'm looking for individual wine+cheese combinations that would set me back around 50€ or less.

Bonus slimepuppy points if you can name a place in Madrid where I can get the aforementioned queso & vino.

¡Gracias por adelantado!

An old, dry, oloroso sherry with rich, aged cheeses, like Cheddar, Gloucester, Wensleydale, etc.

I dunno, but Tetilla is funny cause it is shaped like a boobie! Also, the Spanish wine that I'm accustomed to is the type that is imported to the US. As far as cheap wines go, Torres does one called Sangre de Toro that I like reasonably well and it will only set you back a handfull of euros.

Alberino is a great Spanish white. Googling "alberino cheese combination" gave me a page that suggested White Afuega'l Pitu as a good Spanish cheese. I haven't tried it but my experience with Alberino has been that it's light enough to match with most mild cheeses.

a Spanish friend of mine goes on about Quince paste (membrillo) with Manchego -- you could add that to your selection for another dimension.

Drifting Northward, you could try a Serrat cheese with a Cava.

If you like funky cheeses, you could go with a Cabrales. It's aggressive, though. Here's a whole article on it, along with some suggested wine pairings.
