My friend is in the midst of final examinations and she's stressed out and frustrated with the material. What can I do to encourage her and/or cheer her up? posted by mwang1028 to education (10 comments total)

Bring her some food she likes, run an errand for her, help her review the material. posted by Sara Anne at 12:55 PM on December 11, 2007
Second food

Nthing food, esp. fresh fruit, which is not something you can just order from Pizza Hut. posted by melissam at 1:13 PM on December 11, 2007
#2: find another person who is generally patient and empathetic, and who has been through this before and gone on to great success, and have them call and explain that yes, this is stressful, and yes, it feels like it'll never end and you'll never succeed, but I felt the same way and it did end and I did succeed. posted by davejay at 1:26 PM on December 11, 2007
Food food food. Specifically, healthyish food. I'm in the midst of finals myself, and I've been eating crap food that's fast to make, but I'm craving VEGGIES. posted by wuzandfuzz at 1:30 PM on December 11, 2007

If you have a nice pair of headphones, lend them to her. posted by tarheelcoxn at 1:56 PM on December 11, 2007
Make some fantastically fun plans for the two of you the day after her finals are over. In my experience, it's so helpful to see that there is an end in sight, and that said end is going to be awesome. posted by sarahsynonymous at 4:01 PM on December 11, 2007
So far, treats that have made my finals better: really good quality chocolate, tea, clementines or other easily eaten fruit posted by melissam at 11:11 PM on December 11, 2007
