While this is not an answer to your question, I recently read Alex Ross's article in the New Yorker: The Well-tempered Web ("The Internet may be killing the pop CD, but it’s helping classical music.").
The article is filled with tons of online resources regarding classical music, information, etc. (e.g. Alex Ross's blogroll for classical music blogs).
I suggest rummaging through the article and around his blog.
