Examples of great looking and informative print newsletters?

Where can I find examples of high quality print newsletters from nonprofits?

We are renewing (much overdue) our print and online presence and I am tasked with recommending ideas for the look, feel and tone of our print newsletter (4,500 people, five times a year). I want to see examples of the best of other organizations and nonprofits if possible to see interesting designs as well as unique content. We are a cultural destination attraction (Chinese garden) and similar types of organizations would be ideal but newsletters from other than nonprofit organizations is fine too.

I have looked at local organizations (Portland, OR) but am also looking for other samples from around the country or national organizations.

Any recommendations for ones, again print only, that you really liked/receive?

Try looking for awards that honor great newsletters. For example The Newsletter On Newsletters has been giving out awards to great newsletters for the last few years.

The America Association of Museums has an annual publications contest.

I'd suggest writing the each of winners to see if they would mail you a copy.

I was in Portland a few years ago for the AAM annual meeting and loved your institution. If I were looking to find something that worked for you, I'd suggest trying something that invoked the Chinese culture through its paper.

Dynamic Graphics magazine has a makeover feature that often features nonprofits and their logos, newsletters and websites. You might find some inspiration/best practices there.
