Good doctor for laser-eye surgery in New York?

I am nearsighted with an astigmatism, am sick of wearing glasses, and contacts are too uncomfortable. I'm 33. Can anyone recommend a good doctor that will not try to sell me on some particular procedure, but will discuss all options (different kinds of lasers, implantable contacts, etc?) and has a lot of experience with eye surgery? Your success stories, please, of docs in New York. (and your bad experiences too, if there's a doc I should avoid.)

I was nearsighted with a stigmatism too. My Lasik was performed by Dr. Eric Mandel in Manhattan. He's very good (in fact he pioneered the procedure), but he's more expensive than the Lasik clinics that are all over the place. Still, it might be worth calling him about a consultation. I can't remember what the fee is for a first visit - you should ask.
