Looking for a scented soap for men; a scent that stays throughout the day, but is appropriate for a guy. Any best favorites you can recommend?

My favorite soap is
Molton Brown Re-Charge Black Pepper. It stays all day and I get great compliments from those close enough to smell it. It's a tad expensive.

pear's soap smells wonderful. it's pretty androgynous, really, which i prefer. it would be totally appropriate for a man or a woman, truly.

Lava Soap?

I'm not a fan of smelly soaps, but we get "almond" soap from time to time and its not too flowery.

Anything that's derived from olives smells amazing on a man. Pure olive soap is quite yummy. Or an oatmeal scent. Something that isn't floral or fruit or musky, but that is a warm natural foody-type scent. Yumyum.

I insist that my boyfriend use Herban Cowboy's "Dusk" soap. The scent is heavenly and definitely masculine. Mmmmmmm...I'm biting my fist just thinking about it.

Bee & Flower Brand - sandalwood.

The packaging suckers me in, but the soap is nice, too. Available in many asian groceries here in Australia.

Dove's cucumber and green tea bodywash leaves a nice, yet subtle, scent.

Lush has more than a few guy-appropirate scents. Red Rooster and Demon in the Dark are liked by a lot of guys I know. They have a new one, can't recall the name, that's pine scented. I love it, but I can see it being so nice on a boy.

Not sure if they're "throughout the day" strong, though. Only thing I've ever encountered that lasts quite so long seems to be the axe bodywash type items. Which, although I don't hate them like some, inspire some strong feelings in many people.

I like Greek soaps in general, including the Karavaki Chamomile soap and the Papoutsanis Tabac and Olive Oil soaps.

I recommend the pine tar soap from the Grandpa Soap Company. :)

A friend of mine did a 'sniff test' putting Irish Spring soap on one arm and a popular men's cologne on the other (sorry, can't remember the name of it!)--no one could tell the difference. So if you need a nice smelling soap that's inexpensive and can be found at the supermarket, go with Irish Spring.

I second UbuRovias - the Bee and Flower sandalwood soap is the best - it's the only soap that my husband uses. We buy it by the box at asian grocers.

well, i don't know where you are, but if you're in Philly, stop by Duross and Langel on 12th just above Sansom. They have tons of locally made soap, and a lot of it is guy appropriate.

Almost all of the shmancy scented soaps I've ever used - and I have used many - fade really fast. Like still in the shower. The Dials and Irish Springs of the soap world, however, have much better scent longevity. And the just-showered, soapy clean smell is surprisingly sexy on a guy - or anyone, I'd imagine.

Other than that, I'd recommend looking at shower gels instead of soaps, since their fragrance tends to stay longer.

Nthing Bee & Flower sandalwood, although it tends to dry my skin a bit. Also, Dr. Bronner has some nice strong scents that work for men and don't dry me out; I like the peppermint, eucalyptus and lavender bar varieties.

In my experience with making/selling soap, men are drawn to some of the earthier fragrances--cedarwood, vetiver, sandalwood, spruce--as well as the mints and herbals, such as rosemary. Bonus points for mixtures of these.

Using some of these base note scents will help "ground" the other scents to make them linger on the skin better. For instance, citrus scents are "high notes" and will dissipate quickly. Grounding them with a base note of patchouli, sandalwood, vetiver, etc. holds them all together and makes the scent linger longer.

I've also found that using essential oils helps the scent last longer too.

I know Lush as already been mentioned but they have a product that isn't always available but that I really like. It's called Tramp. Mild patchouli so if you can't stand the smell of a Lush store it won't work for you. This is a shower gel that leaves a lingering scent all day.
