How can I meet people the same age as me to show me around the city of Mumbai (Bombay)?

I will be traveling alone to Mumbai (Bombay), India this weekend and wanted to check out the nightlife. However I think it would be quite boring to go out to a club alone and wanted to know if there is a way to get arranged with a group. I haven't arranged a hotel yet, so a student hostel would be an option. I am a non resident Indian, 24 year old male.

Don't have much advice on finding people to go with but I'd say just go out by yourself and you'll meet people. I do that when I travel abroad and always end up meeting cool interesting people. What's the worst that could happen? You don't meet anyone and end up just going back to your hotel.

couchsurfing, couchsurfing, couchsurfing.

so far I've used it to meet or stay with people in 5 countries over 3 continents, and have never ever been disappointed (yet). this is a fantastic way to meet generous and usually interesting people who really know and love the cities they live in.
