How to find flights for the EU?

What web site would you recommend to find and book flights in Europe (including budget airlines, cheap flights).. in other words, the orbitz of the EU?

And then book the cheapest on the relevant airline website.

Flylc is not a booking sight but it does tell you which cheap flights go from specific airport a to specific airport b, so if, for example, you need to fly from Aarhus to Barcelona, you can find out that Ryanair is the site you need to go to.

this search in 14 different booking sites and outputs the results in a nice web 2.0 way. and as a bonus it's completly ad-free.
No idea if you can then order from the US though.
