amazon.com --> amazon.de transfer gift gertificate balance between sites?

is is possible to transfer my funds from the us site to the german site?

the sites seem very close together: enter a german address on amazon.de and it will be visible on amazon.com along with your american ones if you use the same account, so my assumption is that yes, this should work.

I'd buy one item and enter the coupon code just to see if it accepts it and then cancel just before the last step so that I wouldn't get charged.

also: amazon has a super-secret hotline you could call.

Response by poster: it says:
"You will be able to apply these funds on the Pay page of our order form the next time you place an order."

On the same page on the German version i have a balance of 0 euros so i wont be able to apply the funds on the pay page.


And i dont have an american address, i registered in germany but my account works on amazon.com.

Speaking from personal experience, if it's anything like .com-->.ca then, no, they won't let you.
