Question: Name That Tune - Shrek 2 - Orchestral/Choral piece in Far Far Away.

Name That Tune - Shrek 2 - Orchestral/Choral piece in Far Far Away.

There's a really neat fanfare and choral piece in Shrek 2 right after the fadeout of Funkytown, as Shrek and Fiona's carriage is pulling into the Far Far Away castle's roundabout.

I'm pretty sure I've heard this piece before...Can somebody name it, please?

It could be two pieces, as Funkytown fades into the fanfare, and then the choral part kicks in, which may be different altogether. Help?

This is the fanfare with the chorus that sings, "She is here," correct? I liked that too. If it is the track three sample on the soundtrack at the iTunes music store as I suspect, Harry Gregson-Williams wrote it for the movie.

My boyfriend (who is one of the underpaid hacks writing bits of movie soundtracks) says that while it is very Copland/John Williams-ish, it is not drawn from classical Canon.

I don't have/am not willing to install iTunes, so I can't listen to the sample. But it sounds like the "She is here" part is correct.

It's a bummer that it's not from classical canon, as you say, but I guess I'll live. Thanks for the answer!

Sure. I think you could probably get it on amazon, but I'm being too lazy right now to look it up. The bf suggests you go to the library and check out some Copland or John Williams to sate your craving for that kind of music.
