Maria maria es mi... what's that song?!

I once heard a song that started something like "Maria, Maria es mi sol, es mi sueno dolor" (with appropriate spanish accent marks). Any idea what this is?

Best answer: Is it "Maria, Maria" by Milton Nascimento and Fernando Brant, whose lyrics appear here? Mercedes Sosa and others have recorded it.

Try Google if you haven't already... type in 'lyrics' and copy paste the lyrics you know and see if it turns up anything. That's what I usually do when I don't know the name of a song.

I'm positive it's by Santana and from his Supernatural album. I'm poking around to see if I can dig up which one... "Maria, Maria" is the obvious choice but I'm not hearing those lyrics yet.

I can't find those exact lyrics in any of his songs... But check out the Maria, Maria (Santana) video on Youtube to hear it, or listen to clips from the whole CD on Circuit City's site.

The more I search, the more confident I become that, since you last heard it, you've run the lyrics from a few of his songs together. Sorry for the triple post. (Boy am I going to look like an idiot if I'm wrong!)

Response by poster: You got it, magicbus. Thanks. And thanks, purelibertine and fogster, for the attempt.
