Err, except it doesn't make opml, and I need opml to quickly import all of my bookmarks into a blog. posted by Grod at 4:35 PM on June 3, 2004
Oops, my mistake, ok here's what you can do.
Upload your bookmarks.html, download as XBEL, then you can just use XSL to convert from XBEL to OPML. posted by riffola at 4:57 PM on June 3, 2004
Hm, OK. I'm a little new to all of this. How do I do that, is there a tool I can download? posted by Grod at 5:16 PM on June 3, 2004
Grod, what program or script are you using to import the OPML? I'm not sure why you need bookmarks to be in OPML format, when XBEL is just as easy to import.
I look around, apart from aaronland.info's scripts, there is really no script out there converts from one format to another, it's odd. Also I wish I was smart enough to know how to use that script. posted by riffola at 8:21 PM on June 3, 2004
I need it 'cause wordpress doesn't import any format other than opml. That's in the next release or something posted by Grod at 9:10 PM on June 3, 2004
Here's a surprising find (and hopefully not too late for you): the RSS Reader plugin for Firefox, where you keep track of RSS feeds by bookmarking their URLs into a folder in your bookmarks directory, will export said bookmarks as OPML.
Just define set your RSS List Folder to be the root of your bookmarks folder, and export as OPML. posted by John Shaft at 6:28 PM on June 7, 2004
