How do I restore the missing factory display profile on my Macbook? When I try to calibrate the color for the display on my Apple MacBook i get the error "The factory profile for the display could not be found." This seemed to happen after a problem with Parallels having some problems. What can I do to fix this?

you should be able to grab it if you have a copy of pacifist. the application lets you search through an apple install disc for specific installers, then install them either to the default location with default permissions, or to a location you specify (such as your desktop, in case you're grabbing something just to poke around with). it's saved me many a time.

your profile will have been a document inside Computer/HD/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/Displays.

mine started with "color LCD" and then a string of numbers; i just did a fresh install of leopard a few days ago and haven't customized much yet. pretty sure it's default.

Did you have fast user switching enabled? If so, you may have tickled this bug.
