Help upgrading my 2 year-old PC's motherboard firmware. [mi]

Is it worth it to upgrade the firmware on a 2 year-old motherboard? If so, please help me identify the motherboard manufacturer and obtain the BIOS upgrade.

The information I have:

BIOS Type: American Megatrends
BIOS ID: 62-0627-001131-00101111-040201-VIA_P6-M925LR
Release: 06/27/2002
Chipset: VIA 82C3148 rev 0

The PC's invoice states:

mboard: m925 lmr pentium 4 (478) pc-chip's

I have looked through the motherboard identification sites, and googled a bunch of stuff but would appreciate expert advice before screwing up my computer.

Don't upgrade the BIOS unless the new BIOS has features you need.

1) Upgrading the BIOS generally isn't worth it unless you are fixing a specific problem. If your computer works well, don't touch the BIOS. If you have a problem that you know is fixed by the latest BIOS, then update the BIOS. (Or if you're like me and you get an irrational feeling of accomplishment out of updating the BIOS... well, fine, take the risk of screwing things up.)

2) You already have the latest BIOS, anyway, as found here.

Now if only there was firmware to de-cripple the made-for-HP Asus motherboard I have....

sorry linux your sol. MSI makes cheap good quality motherboards. They seem to overclock just fine too. (1800+ oced to 2400+ with no voltage increase)

*My* 2 year old plays with a computer. She loves it. Bangs on the keyboard, makes it beep by holding down buttons for prolonged periods of time, etc.
