None of the original cards are in the second frame. posted by inconsequentialist at 10:44 AM on November 11, 2007
It doesn't work, actually. The cards in the second set are different from the first. They are still face cards, but not the same ones as the first time around. posted by greta simone at 10:45 AM on November 11, 2007
All the cards changed.
First:
king hearts
jack clubs
king spades
queen diamonds
queen clubs
jack diamonds
Second:
queen hearts
king clubs
jack hearts
queen spades
king diamonds posted by ALongDecember at 10:46 AM on November 11, 2007 [1 favorite]
Easy. None of the cards repeat. The first set of cards is:
King of hearts
Jack of clubs
King of spades
Queen of diamonds
Queen of clubs
Jack of diamonds
The second set of cards is:
Queen of hearts
King of clubs
Jack of hearts
Queen of spades
King of diamonds
Whichever card you pick in the first set is gone in the second set, because none of the cards are the same. But you see a similar distribution of red and black face cards, so you think you're looking at the same set.
haha. I can't even count how many times that happens to you BitterOldPunk! posted by iamkimiam at 11:00 AM on November 11, 2007 [1 favorite]

Here's a version with better social engineering, and here's a bit on why it works. It actually works better on smart people, so don't feel too bad. posted by flabdablet at 5:51 PM on November 11, 2007
