Question: Curl-savvy stylists in the Twin Cities?

I am looking for a hair stylist in Minneapolis/St. Paul who is good with curly hair, including color, and will tell me what will look good on me.

My last stylist was awesome. She was very good at suggesting cuts and colors that she thought would work for my fine, moderately curly hair and she was almost always right. She stopped cutting hair, though, so I had to move on. I started seeing another stylist at the same salon and she's very nice but last night she murdered my hair. I can't even tell what is wrong with it exactly, but I know it's not good and I think it's because she didn't take my hair texture into account. I don't even want to go back to her to get it fixed. I'd prefer someone in the east metro but if they're that good, I'll go anywhere.

I don't know Minneapolis stylists, but the salon map at Naturallycurly.com has lots of listings of salons with reviews from curly women.

From one curly-haired girl to another: Nikki at Hair Police in Minneapolis works miracles. I highly recommend her!

Try Studio 55 Salon in Plymouth. Ask for Ralph. He is pretty good.

He's good with male/female and pretty much everything. He even tricked me into waxing my eyebrows once. He sat me down at the sink to "rinse my hair" and then suddenly he was waxing them. He was muttering something like, "i just couldn't handle it anymore".

Rocket_Johnny, that's hilarious! Whenever I go to someone to get my lip waxed, they are always desperate to do my brows too...maybe I should take that as a hint. ;)

Anyway, I have a curly-haired friend who goes to a male stylist at Spalon Montage in Edina. Not sure of his name, but if you call and ask for the male stylist who is really good with curly hair, you may luck out. Her hair always looks amazing after she goes to him.

Addie at Salon on the Edge. She has crazy curly hair herself, so she knows what to do.
