Remember the SNL skit where Bill Murray's a lounge singer doing his own version of the Star Wars theme? I remember hearing a legit lounge act cover of this once - does anyone have any idea who it was by?

Response by poster: this sounds different than the one i was thinking of...it's a bit slower and more synthy, and tricks you at first. Listening to it you think "huh this sounds like 'star wars', then the lyrics slowly creep in. If you're not paying attention you might not realize it's star wars.

On the off-chance that you're remembering it incorrectly, could it be Nichelle Nichols singing the theme from Star Trek?

At the finale of the suppressed 'Star Wars Holiday Special', Carrie Fisher sings a song about Life Day, set to the Star Wars main theme. Might that be it?
