Where to stay in Davis?

I'll be near UC Davis on Saturday, and I'd like to stay overnight. Any recommendations for nice places to stay while there? I've 8 year old twin boys, and my wife.

Looking on the slightly fancy side, hopefully with a pool. Room service a bonus.

No particular hotel recommendations, but if you'll be there Saturday morning be sure to hit up the Farmers' Market, and make a point of taking a walk around the Village Homes at some point. As far as hotels go, the Davis Wiki might be a good resource.

I live in Davis. Palm court doesn't have a pool but it's right smack in the middle of downtown and you can easily walk to practically every (including kid-friendly) restaurant, farmer's market, coffee shops and even campus (if that's why you're visiting). Whatever you do, don't stay at the Hallmark Inn (the trains will keep you up all night).
Another nice place in town is the Davis Bed and Breakfast on A street. Still doesn't have a pool though.

Palm Court is probably the nicest place to stay. The Hallmark Inn is also centrally located and does have a pool.

Thirding Palm Court, which also has a great restaurant/bar. Not sure if they do room service, but you can simply head downstairs to Cafe Bernardo and dine well.

I've also heard good things about the Aggie Inn.

(In addition to the trains, Hallmark Inn is currently under renovation. Stay away.)

Also: Public pools. However, it's supposed to rain this weekend.

I stayed at the Palm Court several years ago and it seemed expensive at the time but was very nice, incredibly quiet, and right smack in downtown which made for easy walkable breakfast.
