Weird blinking options in Outlook

Weird blinking options problem in Outlook 2003.

I'm having this weird problem that every time I open a new compose message window in Outlook, certain options on the formatting tool bar begin to blink, specifically the font selection, font size, and the attachment paper clip icon. Off on off on off on. This only happens in the compose new message window. Any ideas?

Windows XP SP2, Outlook 2003.

Did you install Service Pack 3 for office yet? I think a bug like this was addressed.
