Do kids trick or treat in Mile End, Montreal?

This is my first year in Mile End, living above some friends who used to live in my apartment on Parc Avenue. The last few apartments I've lived in (Harlem, Harlem, Hochelaga Maisonneuve) haven't been really trick-or-treat neighborhoods, and I was wondering if anyone knows if kids trick or treat around here? I'd love to sort of have a neighbor party out on the front porch, passing out candy, but would anyone actually come?

Response by poster: Oh, and I live between Bernard and Van Horne. That's probably relevant?

Yup, I live on Villeneuve one block east of Parc and all the Portuguese and Greek kids come out plus the gentrifids. They start knocking a little after five and are all gone by eight. They don't come in apartment buildings though, so it's key that you set yourself up on your stoop.

When my brother and some friends lived in the building we'd hang out on the stoop on Halloween, dressed up drinking beers and giving out candy enjoying how cute the little kids can be. Great fun.

Hey furtive! I used to live in an apartment building across from the coffee shop at Jeanne-Mance and Villeneuve, one-half block east of Parc!

(But 235w103, I was there after, then before, Halloween.)

I'm just a few blocks from there (in Outremont) and around here it's supposedly a madhouse, but I would doubt people will walk up the stairs out front on Park. I could be wrong though.

Apparently there's a killer costume party (for adults) later at POTE:TR.

If you put out a pumpkin or indication that you have candy, you will have children.

MeFi Mile End meetup! Or maybe just MeFi Mile End Party at peut-etre! The only party where you can try on coats while you get down.

Whoa, I just realised that furtive and I know each other. We were at the same Halloween party on Saturday, even. Hi!
