Question: DC Maid Service?

Can anyone recommend a reputable maid/cleaning service in Washington, DC?

I'm single, I live by myself and I work, a lot.

As much as I like living in a clean place I only have time to give my place the through cleaning it needs once every few weeks. I've asked a few friends for recommendations. Unfortunately, this hasn't worked out for a variety of reasons. So I turn to you, Hivemind...

My number one concern is finding someone I can trust. Unless the cleaning is occurring at 9pm, which I doubt, it isn't likely that I'll be around.

Bonus points for a service that does laundry and the dishes.

Thanks, AskMeFi.

While I cannot personally recommend any such service, Angies List has The Green Mop (http://www.freewebs.com/thegreenmop/) as its top service, serving DC. E-mail in profile if you want more info, other services from Angies List.

I have not found a decent maid in DC, and believe me I've searched. I could go on and on about whom you should not use though. Most of all, I would say stay away from any company that contracts out their maid work. You'd be surprised how many cleaning companies do this.
I'd ask around town and stick with a local business that has a local reputation.

Check out some neighborhood bulletin boards, the physical ones rather than online. I've seen a number of cleaning services advertised in and around my Mr. Pleasant neighbourhood.
