A digital version of Janis Ian's "Ginny the Flying Girl"

Anyone know where I can get the song "Ginny the Flying Girl" by Janis Ian, short of buying an out-of-print Sesame Street LP?

Once upon a time Janis Ian sang a song called "Ginny the Flying Girl" for Sesame Street. Considering it was nominated for a Best Children's Recording in 1981, it's pretty frustrating that I can't find the song in any format, for love or money, except on an old out-of-print LP. If I collected LPs, or if I even owned a record player, this wouldn't be so bad. But I don't. Does anyone know where I can get this song in a digital format?

You could buy the record and have it sent directly to a vinyl-to-MP3 conversion service (frex). Not very efficient, but you could probably arrange the whole thing from your computer for $40.

You could try writing to Janis Ian to request that she rerelease it (if she has the copywright). She's very supportive of digital music - perhaps she'd consider putting the song out on MP3. She seems very nice from her website - I'm sure that she wouldn't mind an email. In fact, she's already done at least one EP of fan requested tracks.

It seems to me that you need the help of some obsessive Muppet fans. KermiClown might know how to get a copy of this song, or you could try asking around on the Muppet Central Forums.
