Question: Spreadsheet program with images in cells?

I'm looking for a spreadsheet program for OS X that will allow me to essentially create a dictionary list, in alphabetical order... the crucial element is that it needs to be able to contain images in the cells (some definitions have diagrams)!

I've tried Excel and it seems that it does not allow you to put images into the cells - only on top of them. Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like what you want is a database, not a spreadsheet. The last one I used for Mac OS was Filemaker.

Seconding the use of a database. Filemaker is your best option.

You're probably better off with a database, but for what it's worth Excel can do what you're looking for.

A dictionary list in a spreadsheet? Rather, what is the result you want in the end? There are probably more tools in your toolbox than that hammer.

Nthing Filemaker Pro... but if you don't want to invest a ton of money ($299), maybe Apple's new spreadsheet app, Numbers, will do the trick... It's more powerful than Excel as far as layout is concerned and its included with iWork which is only $79.

Free 30 day trial of FileMaker Pro here (link on right hand side of page).

Free 30 day trial of iWork here.
You could also keep your existing Excel solution and make the images references to the actual file on a server. Local or the web, but all text, of course.
