Where is the cheapest place to get a Littmann stethoscope, used or new?

After having my last scope stolen, I'm looking to replace it with a decent Littmann. The difference between the cheap scopes stocked by my EMS company and the last scope I owned (a $40-50 ADC) was significant enough to convince me that a Littmann would be worth the investment as long as I keep an eye on it. I'm guessing eBay is the best place to look but I'm wondering if there's a better place online to search. Also are electronic scopes only worth it for cardiologists? Seems to me that they would be very useful in the back of my ambulance.

I've bought a couple from AllHeart.com. I can't say anything about electronic stethoscopes since I've never used one, and I can't see the need in my line of work.

I can't say about finding a Littmann on the cheap, but many ER physicians use electronic stethoscopes, so it's not just cardiologists. My dad uses one primarily because the volume is adjustable.

Cheapest Cardio III that I could find a month ago was at Allheart. Don't forget to order the free auscultation CD. (You'll need a photocopy of a school ID to return the coupon and get the CD.)

We've had other EMTs buy the expensive electronic ones, and they really haven't helped them that much. We also noticed them struggling more and more when they were in a situation *without* the fancy electronic stethoscope.

The "Cardiology" ones are more tuned to heart sounds from what I've been told. Folks tended to have trouble with lung sounds with them.

I have the Lightweight II and it was about $55.

allheart.com is a good place to buy them from. 3rding them.

Also savelives.com.
