RAM Woes

I own a Dell Inspiron 9100 that uses 200-pin DDR PC3200 SODIMM RAM. I've found a good deal on 200-pin DDR2 PC2-5300 667MHz SODIMM RAM. Would this be backward compatible? Can't seem to find a quick answer on this, many thanks mefites.

DDR and DDR2 are not compatible. They work on different voltages (2.5V vs 1.8V). The DIMMs should be keyed differently to prevent you from even plugging it in.

DDR2 and DDR have different pin patterns. They would not be compatible. However, any DDR memory at or above PC3200 would be acceptable.
