Mozilla Passwords

Mozilla question. I recently got a new computer and have installed Mozilla 1.6 for my browsing pleasure. I've been using Moz on the old box for over a year now, and I have many many username/password combos saved. I can't seem to find a way to transfer them over to the new system. Where are they stored?

oh: Old box - win98
new box xp home

Thanks

Win98: c:\windows\application data\mozilla\profiles\default\xxxxxxxx.slt

XP: c:\documents and settings\USERNAME\application data\mozilla\profiles\default\xxxxxxxx.slt

The xxxxxxxx is a random 8-character string; details on that here.

Aaorn's got it. To clarify, that 'xxxxxxxx.slt' folder holds ALL your Moz info for the most part--bookmarks, saved passwords/forms, prefs, that sort of thing.

As far as I know, copying it over the newer one should not cause too many issues, but it might (if the way certain preferences are stored has changed since 1.6 and your older version), in which case you'll want to root around the old and new one and copy individual things over instead of the whole shebang at once.

I don't know the specific file itself, or I'd tell you; but I think it'll probably be fairly simple to find. Try the forums at mozillazine (mozillazine.org I think, or maybe they're on mozdev.org, or just Google it) if our advice doesn't help :)

Don't forget that the Application Data folder tends to be hidden. If you can't find it, then click into tools-->folder options-->view tab, and ensure hidden folders are shown.

The application data folder did the trick. Thanks everyone. And thanks for the link Aaorn.

btw, I searched mozilla.org and used google with no results. I guess I missed the 1.4 faq.....
