How can I control my Olympus E500 with my mac?

I'm looking for an affordable (namely free) way to control my Olympus E500 via my iBook. I've tried Olympus Studio -- it's too buggy and slow for my liking; far too pricey for what it is. Are there any alternatives? Ideally, I want a program that can trip the shutter and have the camera upload the image immediately after the exposure is done.

Try preview.app. You may need to expand the toolbar while the camera is plugged in, but for certain cameras that allow computer control it adds this function. Make sure the camera is in p2p USB mode, not mass storage.
