Got a canvas, got some paint, where's my mobile phone brush?

Where's my mobile phone brush? Cell phone, yo -- how 'come there don't seem to be any such apps, even on the so-called smartphones. I know the Palm One units have available apps and I would imagine so would the Windows Mobile ones, but what about java-based phones? Am I missing some huge repository of apps or something?

I've had a number of phones and am looking to finally get camera + paint/draw == roadtrip nirvana. I'd rather get a Ming if it supports it as the possibilities with the API seem crazy practical...

(The question, I realize, hinges on the title someplace. I'm looking for "MS Paint" or "Tealpaint" for standard model US phones...

My Palm Treo 650 lets me draw on pictures. I just draw a mustache on your question.

It's not the best program in the world, but it's kind of fun.

Hmm, doesn't help you, but I've just been enjoying this feature in the wonderful "Sketches" app on the iPhone. (Bonus: to erase a picture, shake the phone like an etch-a-sketch.) And I've been asking myself why I've never seen this capability before...

There are literally several dozen of these programs for PocketPC phones (I use "Pocket Artist", mainly because it's a quick way to edit EXIF and add tags) is one of the big ones. But you're right, freely available they seem rare for J2ME or BREW - I think it's because most of the individual Symbian manufacturers release device-specific canvas programs. PaintCAD is one that tends to work with most good MIDLet managers.

Except for some Korean-only Samsungs, most phones before the iphone didn't have tilt sensors.
