What are the best external link icons?

Web Design Nerds: Is there a common name for off-site link icons? What are the best examples and uses of them? The best example I can think of is the square with an arrow next to Wikipedia's external links.

"External link icon." Icons like Wikipedia's are probably the most common representation.
