Anyone have any advice on getting an Ipod Touch to import my firefox bookmarks and passwords?

In firefox:

* Tools:Organize Bookmarks opens the Bookmarks Manager
* File:Export in HTML format

In Safari:
* File:Import Bookmarks & import the file you exported
* Bookmarks: Show All Bookmarks to more them out of the folder it creates for imported bookmarks.

Sync.

I doubt passwords will sync over since Firefox doesn't use the keychain as Safari does.

Response by poster: Thanks, I was hoping for an intermediate step without having to get Safari and install it.

1passwd can do this on OS X, though I found it cumbersome when I tried it.

Safari's kind of difficult to not install on OS X. Are you on Windows? If so, that changes the answer. I'm not sure where Windows Safari stores passwords, but it's not in the OS X keychain.

Obviously my solution is just for bookmarks.

On windows, I believe that the iPhone will sync with IE's bookmarks too. You can import the bookmarks file into IE if you don't want to deal with safari.

Response by poster: Apologies, I (incorrectly) assumed Firefox implied Windows. I didn't know Apple users would defile their systems with open source third party browsers. See, I know enough to snark about Apple, by really not enough to be effective or actually doing anything useful.

Thanks again.
