Where do I find an old-fashioned suit in NYC?

Long story short: I have to dress up as Hank Morgan, the Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court. Where do I find the appropriate attire in New York City?

Here is an image from Wikipedia -- basically, I would be happy with this. (My character is the one climbing the tree.)

Obviously, Sir Boss looked pretty different throughout different parts in the book. A Google image search shows a few other illustrations.

I am not very imaginative when it comes to clothes, so other peoples' ideas and interpretations are more than welcome.

Well, you might at a pinch get away with a plaid or tweed suit of some sort, a bowler hat, fob watch and a pipe. If you want to really go the whole hog, combine the above with random bits of armor and turn up on a bicycle.

While I have no hope of directing you to an appropriate store from here (Australia), any good costume shop should be able to supply a faux-suit of armor and an old-time suit. Failing that, Op-shops and charity stores tend to accumulate the most horrendous suits known to man.

Please post a photo - I'm not sure why you chose this character but it rocks.

ninazer0's suggestion is spot-on.

Have you checked the costumes section of ebay for the suit? A quick googling resulted in a link for bowler hats. Good luck!!

Response by poster: Thank you! I think I have a pretty good idea of how I'm going to do this now.

There will definitely be photos, and I will post them here.
