Lyrics to a Willie Nelson song

I have a cd with Willie Nelson songs. I want the lyrics to his song "I Thought About You, Lord." Every site I go to says that the lyrics are not available at the song writers request. I love the poem of the song. I try to start/stop the playback but some words I am not sure of. Does anyone know where I could possible find these lyrics? Thanks in advance

I might be missing something here...

...but if the artist has painstakingly asked the Internets not to publish the song lyrics, wouldn't MeFi then be at risk of some sort of violation if we did the very thing that the artist asked that no one do?

Further, if the artist clearly doesn't want the lyrics publicly available, is it really okay to ignore that request?

I can understand rilly rilly rilly wanting it a whole whole lot, but this AskMe seems to violate both the spirit and letter of copyright laws.

I think it would be fine to focus on just the words you are not sure about. What were those?

Response by poster: I have listened to it over and over and fianlly figured it out. Bad hearing here. So I am satisfied with it now. I should not have asked since he does not want the lyrics published. I just wanted it for myself because I find it a great poem.

I totally feel you -- Michael Stipe has been similarly frustrating me for years. R.E.M.'s lyrics are "published," so to speak, but they're notoriously never confirmed by the author, and there are loads of wild interpretations and phonetic discrepancies that Stipe won't clear up. Ah, the whimsy of the artiste!
