how to sell a cemetery plot

My girlfriend inherited a couple of cemetery plots a few years back and has had them up for sale with a company ('Cemlot') that, for a one time fee, promises to keep them advertised 'til they're sold. No luck so far. We want to unload these things. Does anyone have any advice on selling plots?

Why not keep 'em? Is there something wrong, location, or something? Everyone needs a final resting place.

Sometimes the cemetery - which is often affiliated with a funeral home - will contact the families of people placed in adjacent plots for you. It's not unusual for people to want to have a plot close to their other relatives.
Be aware some states wont allow cemeteries and funeral directors to resell property directly, but they can arrange for they buyer and seller to make the deal, usually for a modest commission. Other states allow the cemetery itself to make offers to buy back plots - in some cases only if the seller approaches them.
The best way to find out how to do it in your location is to check with a local funeral home.
See? I knew that year as a gravedigger would come in helpful some day!
