People generally subscribe to feeds because they want the content, so you should really be promoting the content rather than the feed. And how you do that depends very much on what the content is. Promoting a feed of stock prices, for example, will differ significantly from promoting a feed of movie reviews. The "easiest" trick is to just make sure you ping all the various sites that can be pinged with updates to your feed. There are lists of these all over the place, but an easy alternative is to just ping Ping-o-Matic and they'll ping a whole bunch of other people for you. posted by wackybrit at 6:36 PM on September 8, 2007
