Need to locate band information

I have a ripped CD with music from a band I labeled as !!!

and now I can't figure out how to find them anywhere. Went to the original music site I bought the CD from-no help. Google just gives me a blank page. Has anyone heard of !!! and/or could point me to a way of finding them? Thanks.

It's pronounced "chk chk chk," and you can find info here or at their official website.

Erm, I apparently failed to set up that second link correctly:

Their official website.

Sakes alive, that didn't take any time at all. Thanks very much, I appreciate it.

Wikipedia's native search engine finds it, but that's about it. Interesting failure.

Using quote marks around the !!! should work on Google, in theory, but doesn't.

At the risk of stating the obvious: following Tomorrowful's first comment, Googling "pronounced chk chk chk" gets good results (including this one that discusses this very problem).

Funny, I would have pronounced that "Bang, Bang, Bang".

You're showing your age, Bellman! And your geekiness. I dimly recall that the ! = chk paradigm is a linguistic one as opposed to the compsci ! = bang

According to the band, while "chk chk chk" is the most popular pronounciation, any three exclamatory sounds can be used.

I've never heard of "chk chk chk" used for this -- nor had I heard "bang" used until I started programming.

I guess there's not much reason for it to come up, generally. Of course, there's also this alternative.

Huh, I never knew/thought that "bang" was a comp sci thing. I thought it was a writing/printing thing. After all, the interrobang was invented and its name coined in 1962, according to wikipedia. I wonder why it's called that to programmers and printers, but to few in between. :)

(When the question is answered by the first poster, the thread is allowed to have a lot of noise afterwards, right?)

Interesting Failure...
probably a better band name than !!!. But !!! has some pretty cool songs. They blow it a lot too, though.

i've heard the name also pronounced "pow pow pow" ... but for the last few years I've mainly heard the band called "chk chk chk" they're a great live band too.

Their first album is spotty, I think, but Myth Takes is much better.

And regardless of your opinion of their albums, they're enough fun live that I'd give them a shot even if both albums leave you a bit cold.
