Another shower related question: Guys, what shampoo do you use? Or more specifically: what guys' shampoo smells the best?

Whatever shampoo is in the shower. I find the hair product used after showering is what sets the smell.

L'Oreal Vive Citrus CR Shampoo. It has a nice brisk citrus smell, like those cleaners with orange oil. Very refreshing.

Last Christmas season, Suave made limited-edition bottles of "Evergreen" shampoo and conditioner, with a very nice pine fragrance. I picked up a bottle of each. I should have bought more; I'm nearly out now.

Ivory Soap. (I shave my head.)

When I had hair, I used this.

I use Goldwell. But I only use it once a week. The other days I just use water. And I don't use it because it smells good, I use it because it reminds me of my hair stylist, who I have a crush on. :)

I used to use Herbal Essences' pear-scented shampoo, but that was just because I like the smell of pears. Now I just use whatever my girlfriend's got in the shower.

In general, girls' hair-products are nicer, but it really depends on what you *want* to smell like.

My hair-cutter person sold me some 'American Crew' brand stuff which smells nice and not too shampooey. It's apparently fairly high-quality (does not contain industrial wax, or whatever) and easily a year's supply can be found for about US$20. It also comes in a manly-looking brown bottle.

The biggest, cheapest bottle of whatever they got is what I buy. Right now, it's a black bottle about 1qt. in size.

Why is it, and I can't be the only one, that clothes washed by my girlfriend... my clothes, seem fresher, cleaner, and smell better? I wash them just as frequently. I use similar detergents, etc. Kinda like how sandwiches are always better when someone else makes them.

I use one of Target's clones of Herbel Essences (I think that's what it's called). About half the price, and works just as well.

One of the only good things about going very bald (and then just cutting your hair damn short with a trimmer) is not having to do the whole shampoo/conditioner routine. Soap works fine.

I'm a fan of Suave Daily Clarifying.
Girls keep telling me my hair is really soft, for what that's worth.

I use whatever my wife places in the shower. Right now it's a generic strawberry-essence shampoo and some Clairol strawberries-and-cream conditioner shit that smells exactly like strawberry waffles.

Head and shoulders does the trick. Leaves my mane shiny and fresh. The menthold stuff is soothing on the ol' scalp too.

Gather round, kids. In the 70s I used to use shampoo made out of beer, and this was not a marginal product only sold through mail order, like it is today. It was on small-town grocery store shelves.

Imagine wanting your hair smelling like the floor of a sports bar. And yet...

I use whatever the Dollar Store stocks that particular day.

Yeah, the ideal solution is to cut your hair short enough to use soap. The goal is to minimize the number of substances you must stock for your daily grooming. When my hair is longer, I lean toward a combo shampoo/conditioner, which at least keeps the number of substances I need to keep in the shower down to two. Of those, I like Pantene's -- a fairly light and neutral scent.

I find the hair product used after showering is what sets the smell.

If you are using hair products after showering you have definitely lost the battle and possibly the war as well.

I like the rosemary-mint shampoo that aveda sells. it's not cheap, but it's also not flowery.

Acetylene: They had a whole range of Seasonals back around Christmas. I have Evergreen and (I think) Holly. I was actually waiting pretty impatiently to run out of the holly, but the evergreen was night :P
