WinTV2000 Broken on Vista 64

Help us get WinTV2000 to work properly beyond the first time it's launched.

After running WinTV2000 once and then closing it, the next time it's started we get a black screen where the TV feed should be displayed. (Occasionally, reopening it will result in a choppy live TV feed instead of a blank one.)

To get WinTV2000 to run correctly any subsequent times, the program has to be uninstalled, the computer rebooted, and the program reinstalled (in that order). No individual action (or subset of actions) was sufficient to get it to run correctly again.

Some additional information:

- Using the most current version of WwinTV2000
- Running Vista 64 Ultimate (so windows media center is present)
- Using Hauppauge PVR 150 (with most current drivers)
- WinTV2000 doesn't clearly display (it's choppy) after running Windows Media Center.

Also, if anyone can recommend another simple/easy PVR/live TV software that works with Vista/Vista 64, that would be a fine solution to the problem.

Thanks!

I use ProgDVB for my WinTV Nova-T because WinTV2000 is really just complete crap.

ProgDVB isn't great either, but it works a bit better in my experience, and doesn't look quite so awful. No idea what it's like in Vista, though.

In case anyone else is wondering... it turns out that the random choppy video/audio is a known issue with certain Hauppauge cards and Vista 64 with 4GB (or more) of RAM. Link. Apparently the only current fix is changing Vista's perceived amount of RAM to 3GB. New drivers to fix the problem might be in the works, however.
