looking for an OLDER DC Metrorail poster

I'm looking for an OLDER Washington DC Metrorail map - the system map kind that they post in the subway cars or one that is poster-size.

The one they have available on their website is great - its the current map thats available in the subway (minus the Yellow Line extension to Fort Totten) available here: at www.dcmetrostore.com.

I emailed WMATA, but unfortunately, no luck on that front. Does anyone know where i might be able to procure one? (Ebay has turned up no leads so far either). I have seen older poster versions before (a nonprofit I know used to have one)

If you're not scrupulous about biting the hand that transports you, you could attempt to steal one from a metro car. It wouldn't be too terribly difficult. Hell, I've thought about doing it myself. But I know these things are out there. In fact, I've seen one of them hanging in someone's room. So don't give up the search just yet.

No, I'm lookng for an older one - one that's a partially completed one - the system grew i bits and pieces for nearly 20-30 years. Not the current one, which you can buy on Metro's site for $25. (I've already done that)

I wanted a older map that might be an interesting historical piece. (thats why)

You don't say the year you'd like, but I believe you will be able to find all the historical maps you need from The Great Society Subway: A History of the Washington Metro.

Hey - actually, I own that book, and it is heavy on content (It's a great book), but light on graphics - and particularly maps. I wanted a poster-like one I could hang.

This may be so specific as to be no help whatsoever, but...this building in Takoma Park used to have an older metro map in their elevator. It's an apartment complex called the Wedgewood, their number is 301-434-2639, and they're going condo, so maybe you could talk them into selling it to you.

Last time I was there was 2004, I think, but it never struck me as the kind of building where things got changed all that often.
