Shamelessly begging for your creative title ideas. I'm starting a new personal blog and have no clue what to call it. My mind is completely exhausted. I have been trying to think of a name for my new blog for months, literally. I've searched for ideas in every place possible but I am still coming up blank. The blog itself will be mostly of a personal nature, but will also include some fun, informational, and hopefully interesting stuff. Mainly for my own pleasure but I do want to attract regular readers. Through this process I have discovered how complex and unique I really am, so having a title that reflects my personality seems close to impossible. I have many varied interests, yet I yearn to simplify. I'm married, with no children yet. I'm a happy, traditional, creative person. I love reading, comfort, colors, music, thunderstorms, learning, autumn, history, and laughing.

I'm hoping some of you will be kind enough to just throw out some suggestions or advice that might spark a thought or two for me regarding the title of my new blog. I want it to be spellable and not too long, and broad enough to encompass an assortment of topics. Oh, and I don't want the words "life" or "blog" in it. Other than that, at this point, I'm open to just about anything.

It's kind of traditional to give your blog a long Latinate name (that's what I did) and you like thunderstorms, so how about Cumulonimbus?

The Storm-Cloud of the 21st Century, after John Ruskin's utterly daffy lecture "The Storm-Cloud of the Nineteenth Century". Even if you don't know the reference, it's still a pretty darn good title.

I really like these lines from T.S. Eliot's "Prufrock":

Time for you and time for me,
And time yet for a hundred indecisions
And for a hundred visions and revisions,
Before the taking of a toast and tea.

When I wrote a column for my high school newspaper years ago, I called it "A Hundred Visions and Revisions." Maybe that'll work for you?

Why not take a more obscure song title / lyric?

I have "there goes the fear" (a song by UK indie band Doves) as my blog title... if you take a lyric or title of a more obscure track then you won't have as many issues finding a domain and will win points in the originality stakes I'm sure!

Colonial America and the American Revolutionary War.

Maybe use the titles of 18th century English and American periodicals? The Tatler or The Spectator or The Independent Reflector? Colonial Americans also loved pseudo-classical pseudonyms, so maybe combine my suggestion with escabeche's and be Junius or Philo-Tempestas?

John Adams used the pseudonyms Humphrey Ploughjogger and Novanglus, which would be a good one to use if you're from New England (which, I see, you're not..). Maybe steal Jefferson's Notes on the State of Virginia and make it Notes on the State of susiepie?

When I wrote a column for my high school newspaper years ago, I called it "A Hundred Visions and Revisions." Maybe that'll work for you?

This was done in the pre-blog era by a journaller called Tamar. Doesn't mean it can't ever be used again, "no new thing under the sun" and all... but Tamar was pretty old-school (started writing online in 1999), so it could lead to confusion that she'd resurfaced.

According to the creator John Campbell, it is named "so that if someone asks what i do, i can cup their face in my hands, lean my forehead against theirs and whisper i make pictures for sad children. "
