Has anyone purchased land/homes in Baja California in the last 5 years? I'd like some opinions on the pros/cons.

I'm looking for advice from foreign (non-Mexican national) owners.

Foreigners cannot own most desirable land in Mexico, in particular that located close to the coast, which would appear to be most of Baja.

You can, however, invest in a real estate trust, wherein (as I understand it) the bank owns the land for you.

We've been talking to some folks about the trusts, now we're trying to do our due diligence and find some independent corroboration. That helps, thanks for that.
